You know how when you get memories, there'll sometimes be feelings with them? Well, there's this group this guy's apart of in that other life. When I get memories of them, they feel important. Like I really want to see them again. I thought if I did, if I found them in this life, I'd feel something but...

[Terra's gaze drifts upward, and he stares into the ceiling as he decides what exactly it is he should say here. It's complicated. This other life bullshit is always complicated. The feeling of incompleteness, having feelings for people you don't even know...A gentle touch, for a gentle boy...]

Good one Elliot, but seriously, just because your memories tell you that he's important, doesn't mean that he's important to you.

You and that other Elliot...You're different people. So what if they were friends? So what if sometimes you feel like you "should" be close to him? We're all different people.

So fuck him. You have Eren. You have me. You have Minako. You don't have to put up with that guy just because your "Memories" tell you so.

[He pauses.]

...Unless Retrospec sends us back to those other worlds once they're done fixing them.

[He admits it, the real root of the problem. It's not just having trouble getting along with Rean. It's the idea he could be sent to live a life he doesn't want that's really getting to him.]

Do you think they'll do that?

[Terra's hand is on Elliot's shoulder before he can do so much as blink. He gives a reassuring squeeze, smiling.]

Ain't no way I'm letting them take my favorite intern away from me.

No matter what happens, we're us now. All of those people in the "fixed" worlds can stay the same, but we're our only selves now. The other Elliot, Terra, they had their shot. These are our lives, and we're not going anywhere we don't want to go, okay?

[And the smile fades into something a little more serious––yeah, this is something that Terra himself had been thinking about a lot. Recolle is too important. It's his home, real or fake. These people are his friends, real or fake. The other Terra had friends too, but that doesn't mean he's willing to give up his life for that.]

I'll make sure of it.

[He'll glance over when he feels at that hand at the shoulder. Even if Elliot still worries, there's something reassuring in Terra's words- in the conviction of his voice. It's a bit like listening to his brother- comforting.

So, it manages to get a bit of a touched smile out of him. He's thankful, really.]

Okay ... Thank you. [He means it] I-I'd like to lead the life I want to lead.

[That said...]

But...favorite intern, huh? S-Sure you don't say that to every intern?

[Like the flip of a switch, Terra's usual shit-eating grin returns in an attempt to lighten the mood back up. He pats Elliot's head, now.]
