WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Recolle Volunteer Association
WHEN: December 17th
WHAT: It's the Recolle Winter Festival! The best holiday music, food, and activities! PLUS the Charity Drive Prize Drawings!
WARNINGS: Holiday Cheer!

It's time for the WINTER FESTIVAL and EVERYONE is invited!

I. So you’ve arrived at the Winter Festival!

[The entire Tribunal Terrace is covered in lights––the buildings, the trees, the street signs and plant life––everything is outlined with a rainbow of holiday colors, drawing in many who may be passing by. Through the help of a few helpful, holiday costumed volunteers and a truly magnanimous amount of posters littered (both figuratively and literally––please be kind and recycle!) throughout the area, you may find yourself lead to the Recollé Volunteer Association, a large building that has been exquisitely decorate to appear as a magical winter castle, with “towers” and “gates” strung up in lights to give it that authentic, magical feeling. For a frankly dirt cheap $5USD, you’ll receive full admission to the REVA WINTER FESTIVAL! After getting the back of your hand stamped with the ever adorable visage of Jack Frost, one of ReVA’s helpful volunteers will lead you into the Grand Ballroom.

Here, the lights are colorful but dim, the best/worst Christmas and General Holiday music remixes are blaring (with the occasional slow song for dancing with that special someone). Brave enough for some Christmas Karaoke? Just sign your name up and belt out your best “Frosty the Snowman” on stage! If you’re more into snacks, there’s a spread of plenty of Holiday sweets and dishes to enjoy, but maybe not entirely taste! Various inflatable holiday icons are strewn about the room, swaying as if dancing to the music, varying from looking kind of cool to absolutely horrifying. For those coming in from outside, there is also a station for complementary hot cocoa to warm both body and mind. And...are...are those cookies, glowing? Yes. Yes they are. Meet up with your friends and break it down on the floor, enjoy some curiously colorful cookies, or be the prettiest holiday wallflower at the whole festival! Just remember, this is a holiday party, and you never know where you might find a mistletoe hanging, so keep tradition in mind as you explore everything the Winter Festival has to offer!]

II.a You can’t spell “Crafts” without “Arts”!

[Music and dancing not your thing? No worries! The Winter Festival has so much more than just a high school dance! Down the hall, leading out of the Grand Ballroom is the Craft Hall! Not only are there various tables set up selling handmade ornaments, decorations, charms, and more, but there’s a few stations for patrons to take a seat and craft their own. Base ornaments, glue, tinsel, popsicle sticks, and more invite you to flex your creative side and hand make something for yourself, or to give to that special someone! Like your brother. Or that girl you like. Ornaments are for everyone! There’s even a few holiday themed Kanpla Kits for those who are feeling particularly nerdy ambitious.]

II.b Gingerbread, Gingerbread, Gingerbread Rock!

[But something has caught your eye––or maybe your nose? The irresistible scent of gingerbread is wafting through the air, inviting you to the other side of the craft hall where there sits table after tables lined with seemingly countless gingerbread houses. There was a reason it was on so many chore lists, after all! Samples of each home is set up on a plate in front of it––though there’s nothing wrong with breaking off a piece of the house. After all, these were brought to be eaten more than admired. Just...try to resist your inner movie monsters and not destroy them simply for the sake of destroying them. People worked hard on these! If you found yourself roped into making one, you can probably find it and see just how much, or how little, others have been enjoying your hard work! Each gingerbread house also has a card in front of it with the names of those who made it, so feel free to find someone whose house you enjoyed and give them a big holiday thank you!]

III.a Winter Warfare

[From the Grand Ballroom or the Craft Hall, there are doors that lead...outside? Yes, it’s cold and snowy, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had at the ReVA Recreational Lot! The large, outdoor area is for the most part a wide open field which means…snowball fights! Be careful as you are entering a holiday warzone with snowballs flying left and right from rambunctious Recollé youth and adults alike. Find your allies and take out your enemies in this bout of holiday warfare! There are plenty of snow walls to hide behind and trees to use as ambush points, so don’t be afraid to get strategic! If you’re just passing through and attempting to get to the pond, the hill, or the street, well...good luck. You’re going to need it if you want to make it past here alive. Or at least, without being rather cold and damp.]

III.b. Don’t fall in!

[Once you’re out of Snowball Hell™, you’ll find yourself at the lazy pond, which is, conveniently, completely frozen over. Which means…ice skating! There are of course various ReVA staff around to make sure that things are Safe and Orderly. If you fall, don’t worry! Someone will surely be there to help you up and give proper magical medical treatment! Skates are available for rent, so show off your best skills or slide around awkwardly. If you don’t know how, there’s bound to be someone willing to show you if you’re brave enough to ask, or embarrassing enough to let yourself fall flat on your face. If you hear an unsettlingly loud cracking noise, don’t worry! Everything is absolutely, probably fine! Just enjoy the beautiful art form of ice skating in the winter air!]

III.c It’s all Downhill from here

[Would it really be a proper Winter Festival without a little bit of sledding? Probably, but hey! There’s sledding anyway! How wonderful! A frankly, disappointingly small hill overlooks the pond and snowfield in which those who are lucky enough to make it over without being totally soaked by snowballs, can sled down! ReVA attendants have set up numerous sleds of different sizes for festival goers to climb into and hurdle down the hill at blistering speeds! Just be careful you don’t end up sledding down into the pond...or running over any grade schoolers. Not all of them have magical powers, you know! Don’t crash!]

III.d. Let’s ChocoGo

[Skating a little bit too extreme for you? Sledding too remarkably dangerous? Pelting other human beings with snow not your thing? No worries! For those who favor leisure over winterly mayhem and destruction, you can head over to the street in front of the ReVA Building where there are Chocobo Drawn Carriage Rides! Completely free with admission, so make sure your hand is stamped! Invite your holiday sweetheart, or maybe just your sweet bro, and sit back, relax, and enjoy a gigantic yellow bird pulling you through the snowy streets amidst the beautiful and colorful tribunal terrace. Yes, the Chocobo will probably be loudly squawking from time to time, but this is the price of comfort, no? The carriages are set up with paper cups and a hot cocoa dispenser, complete with mini marshmallows! There’s no better way to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the holiday! Be wary though, as there have been reports of mistletoe looking bats flying into some of the carriages and causing trouble for both human and bird alike! Luckily, there’s some way to take care of those little guys, right? ]

IV. Prizes, Prizes, PRIZES!

V. The End of a Long Day

[As the Winter Festival comes to an end, ReVA will invite all attendees outside to the Recreational Area to watch the expansive firework display above the building. Sit down on a blanket or in one of many ReVA supplied chairs, and enjoy the show! The fireworks burst and explode into a myriad of holiday colors and shapes in perfect time to the holiday music playing in the background. Now is a good time to not only reflect on the day and the fun and trouble one may have gotten up to, but also on the holiday season itself. How are you feeling? Have you told the people important to you how much they mean to you? If you have a gift burning a hole in your pocket, now might be a good time to share it! Time isn’t something to be taken for granted in Recollé, so as the sky lights up and the temperature down, just how are you going to spend the rest of your night?]

WildCard!

[There’s no shortage of fun to be had all day at the Winter Festival, so come up with your own prompts, your own shenanigans, and just have fun with it! Mix and Mingle with a Jinglin’ Beat!]
